FROM THE DISTRICT DIRECTOR

It's been a long, hard, cold winter this year, and if you're not into skiing, snowmobiling, or ice skating, you probably spent a lot of time indoors.  Now is the time to look at seed catalogs, and plan your garden, be it a vegetable or just flowers, or a combination of both.  Try something new, a different vegetable or new flower, a new combination in a planter, experiment!  Spring will hopefully be here in just a few weeks.  We are all looking forward to getting out in the sunshine and fresh air, and "playing" in the dirt.  Have an elderly relative or neighbor who can't garden any more?  Put together a combination planter, and gift it to them.  Everyone needs flowers in their lives.

It's time to make your reservations for convention!  Convention rates expire March 16, so make that phone call, reserve your room, grab a couple of friends, and head for Gettysburg.  There are lots of speakers, designers and workshops, time to relax, and of course, shopping!  Hope to see many of you there!

Remember to recycle and reuse.  Donate any items you no longer need or use to a thrift store in the area.  You’ll be cleaning your closets and drawers, and helping someone in need.
